Greyson went to Target for the first time today! Of course he slept through the entire visit, but he's officially my little shopping buddy. Yesterday we ran up to the post office to get our christmas cards in the mail, and that must have boosted my confidence enough to inspire our trip today. The last time I put gas in my car was a few days before Greyson was born (I was in that stocking-up-for-the-apocalypse phase) and today I finally got below a quarter tank! I figure it will last until our trip to Venice for Christmas.
When we got home from Target, we visited a few of our neighbors to thank them for some gifts. I think they are all in love with Greyson. Especially my next-door-neighbor who held him and loved him until he woke up and cried for lunch.
I realized today that almost all of my pictures of G are taken when he's sleeping. Granted that's when he's the cutest angel, but I think the reason is that I don't want to blind him with the flash. So tomorrow I will try to get him outside for a little photo shoot in the sun. My goal is to get a good smile on film (or digital media rather). Mike and I did a little family Christmas portrait session last week with Grey's "first christmas" outfit, and he slept through the entire thing. I haven't posted the pictures yet because I don't want to ruin our adorable photo cards that I mailed yesterday. I suppose I'll post them later this week just in time for Christmas.
Can't believe Grey will be 6 weeks old on Friday. I have my 6 week post-partum checkup at the doctor, which seemed so far away when I scheduled it... and then Grey's two month checkup will be here before you know it. I can't wait to see how much he weighs. I still haven't weighed him on my home scale, I'll try that this evening just to get an idea. For now, we're going to have a little nap and wait for Daddy to come home. Christmas shopping is exhausting.
