Winding Down

Since we got back from Venice, Greyson has slept in his own space each night for 6-8 hours at a stretch. He's been great during the day and a little more needy in the evenings. We have gone to the store a few more times, he went to lunch in a restaurant, and he even took his first trip to Home Depot - a major milestone! He also got more used to his new sling. Since he likes to be held and walked around in the evenings, I decided to try the sling to keep him placated and my hands free. It works, and puts him to sleep!

After I wondered out loud how much he weighed, Greyson's Aunt Linda got him a baby scale so we could keep up with his growth. As suspected, he's now over 13 pounds, closing in on double his birth weight. Typically babies reach that weight by 4 to 6 months!

Today, Greyson is having a sleepy day. Dad wanted me to keep him awake so that he might sleep this evening at our friends' house, but when he's awake he fusses, and when I leave him alone for a minute he falls asleep. It's cloudy and grey outside and about to start getting cold. We may have a freeze here on Tuesday night, so we'll get to wear some of those adorable cold-weather footie outfits that Greyson has so many of. Tonight, for New Year's Eve, Greyson will go to visit his girlfriend Veronica. So far he's spent all of the major holidays with her. I pumped some milk so that I can have a few drinks tonight and not worry about feeding him a tainted meal. I don't think I've had a drink since last January! I guess I'll be a cheap date, maybe one or two drinks and I'll be done for the night.

Happy New Year everyone!

Greyson in the sling - so sweet. And watch out for those quick-grow babies or you could end up with a 20-pound six-month-old (not that I know what that's like).

PS - It was Dr. Isenberg's class.
