Good Day / Bad Day

It was a bit of both. Greyson went to the pediatrician and got poked about a hundred times. They tested his blood for iron again (he passed, he's just pale!) and they were out of a combination vaccine so that meant one extra needle. He's all full of holes, but he's healthy. He peed all over the exam table, as is now our tradition, and he's still in the 90th percentile for height and weight. He took his shots with some distress, but only for a minute or two.

Mike took the day off work to join us at the doctor, and we decided to make an afternoon of it. We went to Target as a family, bought some new baby pajamas and size THREE diapers, and decided to go to lunch. After a horrific, trafficky, scream-filled drive to lunch, and after feeding the babe in the parking lot, I realized I had left my bag in the shopping cart at Target, out in the cart-return in the parking lot. Duh, mom-brain moment. Thankfully the cart boy found it first and it was waiting for me when we returned from across town. We were happy to be home after that crazy afternoon out, and we enjoyed some quiet parent time while Greyson napped off his big day.

Auntie Jenny visited in the evening, and we may have our child care issues worked out! She is eager and willing to watch Greyson when I return to work - I think she might want to spend more time with him than we had planned! We'll work on details, but this is a huge weight off my shoulders for now.

Greyson is napping again now, he's been a pretty good sleeper lately. He fussed a few times last night, but I took his doctor's advice and didn't get up to soothe him because he never really cried. I guess he learned to get himself back to sleep :-)
