Slacker Mom, Busy Baby

I'm totally slacking on my mommy-blogger duties. Greyson has been very busy reaching milestones, learning, growing, and being cuter every day, while I've been soaking it all up and keeping it to myself! We've even gotten lax on the picture and video taking. We're working on it folks, but we're busy people.

Today I'll let you know what our biggest new adventure is, then I hope to spend the next few days remember everything G's done in the past month and posting little snippets here and there.

Drumroll please.... Today is Greyson's first day in daycare! We're calling it "school" so I can constantly remind myself that it's good for him. We took him in for a visit on Friday and he met his new classmates and teachers, and Dad and I got a feel for the place. This morning I dropped him off and I've been sitting at my desk with a big ol' knot in my stomach ever since. It's been a very busy day so I haven't had a whole lot of time to sit here and brood, thankfully. I called around 2 to check on him (they welcome calls from nervous moms) and all is well. They had some questions about feeding him - I've had him on a slow progression of solid foods and I guess most of their other babies are eating more goodies than he is. But other than that, he's been a good baby, he cried for just a minute when I left but he's been playing happily since. He had a nice long nap around lunchtime, and he's spending quality time with his new girlfriend (uh oh, watch out Veronica) Mary Ellen. She's a bruiser like him, about a month younger and just as big and physically advanced. He will probably move to the 1-year-old room about the same time as Mary Ellen - once they're walking and eating big kid food.

Grey is ready to walk any day now. He's pulling up, then letting go of whatever he's got hold of (hamper, drawer, ottoman, skirt, leg, cabinet, etc.) and standing for a few seconds on his own. Yowza! He's very proud of this accomplishment too. I'll think of all his other big moments and I'll be sure to share them soon!
