We are sick, have been for weeks. Usually not enough to keep us home from school/work, but sick nonetheless. There is a cold, we have been passing it back and forth. Or perhaps there are several colds back-to-back. There was a stomach bug or two, and there was pink-eye. Thankfully Greyson kept that one to himself. There are runny noses, coughs, sneezes, and there is yarf all over the kitchen floor, and all over me. There have been a few shared baths, and a lot of nyquil, boxes of tissues, and eyedrops for the toddler (imagine how much fun that is!). But we have survived, with the help of friends and family. Pops wins Grandpa of the Year for driving over two hours to be babysitter for three days, risking his health and sanity to do so.
In the meantime, we've also squeezed in some fun. A visit from Pops and Jo, a manic Saturday night at Chuck E. Cheese (never again!), seeing more manatees at Blue Springs State Park and playing with Uncle Mike and Aunt Jenny. A visit to Uncle Jimmy's where Greyson ate a meatball as big as his head. Trips to the mall and playplace, rides in the shopping cart at the grocery store, marathon walks with Pops and an up-close look at some construction trucks.
And Grey is getting me in trouble every day. Cussing at school, throwing a tantrum in the hallway outside my doctor's office (whereby I leave him howling in the hallway so I can go sign in, only to open the door to find several concerned ladies asking him where his Mommy is). Getting pink eye on the Sunday before a very busy work-week - necessitating a trip to the after-hours doctor and a rescue by the aforementioned Super-Pops. Demanding chocolate and m&m's, and watching more tv in one week than he's seen in the rest of his life.
One of these days we'll get back to normal, if there is such a thing.
